Pensions and insurance
Employers are required to offer pension and insurance schemes to employees. Pension schemes in Norwegian enterprises are primarily collective insured pension schemes that are heavily governed through law, including the Norwegian Act relating to compulsory service pensions, the Norwegian Act relating to defined contribution pension schemes and the Norwegian Act relating to corporate pension schemes. Many enterprises also offer schemes that extend beyond what is governed by law. These mostly operate pension schemes under which the enterprise pays the pension directly to the employee.
