Corporate governance and crisis management

Corporate governance and crisis management

The goal of assisting enterprises is to contribute towards good corporate governance. Good corporate governance leads to good results and satisfied employees and reduces the risk of negative incidents that can be both expensive and potentially mission-critical. Our lawyers place emphasis on understanding the enterprise and its needs and using this knowledge as part of the advice we provide. This is why many of our clients use us as strategic discussion partners and involve us in organisational decisions, including when there are no “legal problems”. This allows us to contribute to strong processes and reduced risk of enterprises needing legal assistance for “firefighting” and crisis management.

Good corporate governance leads to good results and satisfied employees.

Even enterprises with good corporate governance may experience situations that require rapid action or, if the right action is not taken, may develop into a mission-critical situation over time. The Board of Directors or senior executives of the enterprise may have received a whistleblowing report relating to violation of the law or issues of concern, the enterprise may have been subjected to an inspection from the supervisory authorities or the enterprise may have been the subject of negative media coverage.

The Board of Directors and senior executives will often have limited experience of dealing with such situations and may require various forms of assistance, not only legal assistance. Our combination of expertise in both employment law and general business law and extensive experience of providing advice to managers enables us to assist enterprises both with investigations and with the operational management of the challenges the enterprise faces. Homble Solheim also has extensive experience of collaborating with other disciplines, including media and communication advisors.
